3GToday.com Undergoes Significant Revision

6th June , 2005

US : QUALCOMM Incorporated announced a significant redesign of www.3Gtoday.com, a site that provides the wireless industry with access to the latest information about third-generation (3G) wireless operators, devices, applications and services available worldwide, and a free monthly newsletter edited by wireless industry authority Andrew M. Seybold ( inset ), head of the wireless consulting firm Andrew Seybold Group, LLC. The revised 3G Today site offers increased functionality and search capability -- enabling site users to more easily stay up to date on the wealth of new devices and services that are being commercialized as the worldwide transition to 3G accelerates.

For a more useful and informative user experience, the new 3G Today site features a host of new capabilities that offer visitors intuitive and easy access to a wealth of information. Highlights include:

* Increased focus on the latest 3G applications and services -- with the ability to search by service type (application downloading, position location, personal and mass media, video conferencing, enterprise connectivity, Internet connectivity, multimedia messaging), as well as searching by service pricing and metrics

* Advanced 3G device filtering and sorting -- with a database of more
than 650 3G CDMA devices, the new Advanced Device Search will help visitors quickly find devices with advanced capabilities (e.g., "3G
devices with 2.0-2.9 megapixel cameras, removable storage, stereo sound and QVGA resolution displays")

* Individual 3G standards charts -- separate subscriber charts for CDMA2000 1X, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO and WCDMA (UMTS), enabling visitors to the site to easily research global commercial developments by 3G standard

* More frequent 3G news updates -- links to 3G news from a variety of sources updated on a daily basis -- as well as a complete archive of the 3G Today newsletter

"The remarkable expansion of 3G services worldwide just in the last year has driven this comprehensive revision of the 3G Today site," said Jeffrey K. Belk, senior vice president of marketing, QUALCOMM. "We believe that 3GToday.com can assist companies in the wireless value chain to stay on top of the incredible pace of global innovation in 3G devices, applications and services. The new 3G Today site enables that -- and much much more."Users of the site also are invited to subscribe to the free 3G Today newsletter via a link on the 3G Today site home page. This monthly e-newsletter, written and edited by industry luminary Andrew Seybold, carries a wealth of timely news and insight -- from interviews with key global 3G operators and manufacturers to reports on major industry shows and conferences to analysis of the trends behind the latest devices, applications and services.

The original 3G Today web site was launched in March 2001, following the launch of the first commercial IMT-2000 3G service, with the specific intention of highlighting commercial 3G operators and devices. Today, the companies participating in the 3G value chain provide ever more appealing devices, high-quality and high-capacity voice services and high-speed packet data access. Video and multimedia content, assisted-GPS location services, video conferencing, over-the-air application downloads and unlimited wireless wide-area broadband access at flat rates are all available through today's 3G services.
