Europe : EB and MTI announce that MTI has selected the EB Base Station Interface Tester (OBSAI tester) to enhance its product development and test capabilities. MTI is a high tech company specialized in wireless communication product development and manufacturing, EB is specialized in demanding embedded software and hardware solutions for the wireless and automotive industries.

"MTI believes in continuously improving our processes to deliver the utmost in quality to our customers worldwide," says Mr. Tony Kao from MTI R&D Centre. "Reliable verification of the OBSAI interface is a must in our test and inspection strategy because of the stringent requirements set in the OBSAI standard, and the challenges of the base station module business. We utilize EB's OBSAI tester to emulate the baseband module when developing our WiMAX Base Station Radio Unit. The tester has exceeded our expectations in terms of versatility and standard compliance to allow reliable and more controlled testing of our products."

EB Base Station Interface Tester emulates OBSAI RP3, RP3-01 and RP1 timing interfaces, enabling development and verification of RF or baseband modules individually without the presence of other base station parts. This helps to achieve the highest possible design quality already at the module development phase. The benefits of utilizing the tester in base station integration phase are also evident. The integrated logic analyzer feature of the tester provides full visibility to RP3 and RP3-01 transmission between the modules.

"EB is pleased to work with MTI to provide a solution that can help trim the cost of tests and increase product quality," says Mr. Marko Falck, Application Manager, EB. "The EB Base Station Interface Tester does exactly that by enabling easy verification of the functionality and performance of their design with a proven turnkey solution."

"The EB Base Station Interface Tester also enables error recovery testing in a controlled manner, which makes the tester a powerful tool in increasing product reliability. Utilization of the tester allows developers to focus on product development and shorten the time-to-market cycle," Falck adds.
