4th June , 2009

US : Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions worldwide, today launched the first commercially-ready CDMA2000 1xEV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) Revision B Solution at the 4th CDMA Operation & Development Forum in Beijing. This vastly enhanced CDMA network technology boosts wireless broadband speeds by up to three times and helps operators substantially improve service quality without any additional investment in hardware and infrastructure.

Huawei is the first vendor to offer network operators EV-DO Revision B for commercial use which supports a downlink rate of up to 9.3 Mbps and an uplink rate of up to 5.4 Mbps. With minimal capital investment to upgrade from Revision A, operators will be able to deliver state-of-the-art mobile broadband services in data-intensive, delay-sensitive applications such as VoIP, video telephony, multi-media and online gaming.

“Huawei is leveraging its leadership in CDMA network development and deployment to help operators be first-to-market with the fastest data speeds and the most attractive mobile Internet services,” said Mr. Zhao Ming, president of Huawei CDMA product line, “Our EV-DO Revision B solution provides a cost-effective and enhanced option for CDMA operators and it also ensures a smooth migration path to Long-Term Evolution (LTE).”

According to the Mobility Infrastructure Quarterly Report issued by independent market research firm, Dell’Oro, Huawei is the market leader in CDMA networks with more than 30 percent market share in the first three months of 2009.
