TNZL's Fraud Management Center will use the solution to quickly and accurately detect and shut down a wide range of current and emerging fraud without adding investigators. Service providers are primarily concerned with international calling fraud, but also need this type of solution to rapidly respond to new types of fraud made possible by the deployment of complex, high-value 2.5G and 3G wireless networks and services. "An ability to demonstrate to customers that we can rapidly detect and shut down fraud is an important differentiator for Telecom New Zealand," said Roger Fleming, manager of Fraud Services for Telecom New Zealand. "After determining we needed to upgrade our existing fraud management capability and evaluating a number of fraud management solutions, we decided that the combined Agilent and Cerebrus solution was a clear winner, based on the unique combination of SS7 data and neural network detection." "We are very pleased that Telecom New Zealand chose our fraud management solution in conjunction with the SS7 solution from our partner, Agilent," said Bill McHale, CEO of Cerebrus Solutions. "We continue to invest in the Agilent relationship so that we can provide comprehensive fraud and revenue assurance solutions to communications providers across the globe." SS7 signaling monitoring provides a real-time source of service and call records that are independent of billing systems. This enables service providers to quickly and accurately identify irregular subscriber behavior or unusual patterns of service usage. Early detection of fraud or revenue leakage significantly reduces service provider revenue losses. CerebrusRE is a unique hybrid solution combining advanced neural network technologies with established rules and threshold techniques to identify new and established fraud patterns in near real time. It is one of the most robust and reliable telecommunications fraud solutions currently on the market, providing efficient and accurate fraud protection for many telecom operators worldwide. |
