| New 3G Wireless Channel Emulator |
|
20th March 2003 |
|
This new instrument enables accurate performance qualification of current and next-generation air interface technologies, including CDMA2000, 1xEV-DV, W-CDMA, and WLAN. With the SR5500, customers can create dynamic real-world wireless network environments for accurate, thorough qualification of wireless devices, equipment and services before they are deployed. The SR5500 will be demonstrated at the CTIA Wireless 2003 Exhibition in New Orleans. Building
on Spirent's industry-leading position in wireless channel emulation,
the SR5500 brings to market many new powerful features on an all-new
high performance platform. SR5500 can evaluate next-generation receiver
architectures by providing more complex channel models that include
up to 48 independent paths. In addition, the SR5500 provides low-level
control over time-varying power delay profiles for the thorough evaluation
of the adaptive modulation schemes found in emerging high-throughput
wireless access technologies. SR5500's unprecedented channel fidelity
is critical when testing complex modulation schemes, such as those incorporated
by WLAN 802.11a/g and W-CDMA High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA),
which require low residual Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) distortion for
proper test results. Along with enhanced performance and features, the SR5500 also features an all-new user interface. Spirent's powerful new TestKIT GUI is simple to configure and provides users with clear, real-time feedback of the emulated channel conditions. Spirent Communications' wireless test solutions aid in all phases of mobile handset development and deployment for the world's leading chipset, handset and infrastructure manufacturers and mobile service providers. Spirent is considered by the industry the "one-stop-shop" for CDMA handset performance and certification testing. Among its accomplishments, Spirent has introduced the first and only integrated solution available to test location-capable CDMA phones, a critical element of assisting manufacturers in meeting the US FCC E911 requirements. Spirent has leveraged its success in mobile performance and certification testing to also bring comprehensive performance analysis to the WCDMA market. |
