Korean GSM Wireless Phone Heads To Europe

15th March , 2004

Europe : Innostream, Korea’s GSM phone manufacturer, announced it began shipping INNO 90, its most popular camera phone, to Europe. The shipment was destined to the open markets under its own Innostream brand and will lead the company to promote its marketing activities in European countries.

Put to the Asia’s GSM phone market earlier at the end of last year, the stylish clamshell camera phone has proved to be a sensation for its ultra-modern design and enhanced multimedia functions. It supports ample uploading wallpapers by the format of personal pictures, MPEG or mobile flash. The photos, which are taken by this phone, can be set up for each individual number.

INNO 90 doubles as a camera phone even in closed clamshell and offers easy to use MMS functions for sending more personal and creative messages. The ultra-compact camera phone has a 7-color optic fiber light around the external display and allows the users to enjoy its uniqueness and new-styled appearance.

“The shipment casts a bright prospect to us as we have already secured a successful image in China and Taiwan,” commented Gijong Lim, president and CEO of Innostream. According to him, the elegant and sophisticated INNO 90 ranked atop at the Taiwanese mobile phone website (www.eprice.com.tw) last month against global leaders such as Samsung, Nokia and Motorola.

He continued to say: ”We will switch our marketing focus from Asia to Europe, starting this year. We will penetrate into both open markets (headed by the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Russia) and direct supply to network providers”

Plans are also in the pipeline to set up direct distribution channels in 10 European countries by the end of this year. As many as six new models scheduled for the European market during the first half of this year have a built-in camera with ‘Real Music Bell’ function which allows a MP3 file to be used for the ring tone.

The new slide-up intenna phone, INNO 75, has MP3, MPEG4 and digital radio capabilities with an external memory card, which is MINI SD, just like a digital camera. The twist-type, dual-color camera phone, INNO 50, meanwhile, has a built-in mega pixel camera and a flash. Another compact slide-up camera phone, INNO 55, supports downloading the latest Java and offers Mobile Flash Animation at light weight of 79g. These models will be exhibited at Hall 26 – D77 during the CeBIT 2004, March 18 thru 24, 2004.
