3G Spatializer Sounds Off |
|
23rd March , 2004 |
| US : Making its cellular telephone and mobile entertainment software more accessible for wider implementation, Spatializer Audio Laboratories Inc. announced at CTIA Wireless 2004, the availability of Spatializer ((environ)) as a digital software implementation for leading cell phone processors and real time operating systems. Previously,
Spatializer ((environ)) was only available on the AN12970A analog
IC from Matsushita Electric Co. Ltd. The first analog adoption of Spatializer ((environ)) in November 2003 in the V801SA handset from SANYO facilitated a new cellular handset design and feature-set by incorporating two micro-speakers to deliver stereo music playback, as well as to deliver enhanced reproduction of a wide array of downloadable ring tones that have gained wide popularity among consumers. These new capabilities helped support the launch of Vodafone K.K.'s new Vodafone live! 3G service in Japan. "The digital software implementation of Spatializer ((environ)) breaks open a huge portion of the next generation cell phone market that we previously could not serve," stated Spatializer Chairman and CEO Henry R. Mandell. "Now, we can offer great flexibility in delivering our cellular audio enhancement technology, to those OEMs looking for either an embedded digital solution, an integrated operating system solution, or through an analog IC. The digital implementation also significantly reduces the cost of delivering Spatializer ((environ)) by eliminating the need for a separate, discrete chip. In summary, we can now deliver an extraordinarily comprehensive package of ring tone and audio entertainment enhancements easily and cost effectively to the cell phone market." Mandell continued. CTIA WIRELESS 2004 is the largest, most comprehensive show in the wireless industry and the premier venue to exchange ideas, create partnerships and collaborate to bring wireless telecommunications to new heights. This global event draws attendees from dozens of different industries in more than 80 countries around the world, serving every aspect of wireless -- providers, users, developers, buyers and manufacturers. Spatializer will be showcasing its solutions at CTIA Wireless 2004 at Booth 4875-R in the M-tertainment Pavilion at the Georgia World Congress Center |
