Type Approval Tests for 3G User Equipment |
31st March , 2004 |
Above shows : Rohde & Schwarz test platform CMU200. Europe : The R&S UPL16 together with the R&S CMU200 from Rohde & Schwarz is a test solution for use in the type approval, quality assurance and development of acoustic characteristics of UMTS and GSM user equipment. All tests comply with the 3GPP specifications and were validated by an independent test house. The acoustic transmission and replay quality of user equipment is its most important characteristic in everyday use. To meet this need, Rohde & Schwarz is presenting a test platform that consists of the Audio Analyzer R&S UPL16 and the Radio Communication Tester R&S CMU200. This is the only test solution officially approved by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) for measuring acoustic characteristics in the type approval of UMTS and GSM user equipment. The GCF selects which 3GPP specifications are mandatory to ensure that a mobile radio network will function smoothly and can interact with other telephone networks. These specifications then become a GCF requirement for type approval. First and foremost, type approval requires adherence to the limit values for frequency response as well as transmission and replay volume. Since the Rohde & Schwarz test solution also offers all other tests defined in the standard, it is optimally suited for quality assurance and development as well. All tests developed by Rohde & Schwarz were validated by an independent test house before being officially recognized by the GCF. |
