8th May 2003

Sweden : Sapio AB, the leading developer of mobile applications for use on 2.5 and 3G has launched Photostore™. Photorstore™ is an advanced Mobile Picture Messaging Community application for Symbian and Smartphone devices.

Photostore™ is a picture messaging community solution for users of camera equipped mobile phones. Photostore™ is an online photo community solution for service providers and mobile carriers. Photostore™ is a application that enables the user to upload photos to an online store. The online store is divided into different folder options, for example Family, Friends, Work etc. Buddy lists can be set up that are associated with each folder so that when a new photo is saved everybody is notified (via email or SMS) and can then view and download that new photo.

Photostore™ opens new opportunities for owners of camera equipped mobile phones. By using Photostore™ pictures are quickly and easily shared and distributed. Thumbnails of the stored photos can be seen on the phone and the folders and buddy lists can be created and updated via the Web browser interface.

To popularize the use of camera equipped mobile phones Photostore™ will be offered for use free of charge by Sapio AB for a limited period. Owners of Nokia 3650 and 7650 phones can today register at www.photostore.se and begin using the service.

Orange SPV and P800 –users will shortly be added to the community.

Niklas Sjöberg, CEO and founder of Sapio AB explains “We are proud of this product, it is the type of great usable Symbian application that consumers are demanding.” He continues “Sapio are fully committed to developing user-friendly multi-media applications for Symbian and Microsoft Smartphone Operating Systems.”

The Photostore™ solution is server/client solution designed for camera equipped mobile phones. Image files can be sent, received and stored in a community environment. It operates on GPRS and 3G networks.
