| Motorola's Beijiing Wireless Office Closes |
9th May 2003 |
The SARS virus outbreak also forced the event organizers of last month's TD-SCDMA conference in Beijing this month to cancel it. The event would have brought together senior executives and government officials to promote 3G wireless and highlight problematic areas. The event will be rescheduled later in the year. As the SARS claims nearly its 215 deaths many wireless companies and attendees are canceling its employees' overseas travel which is not essential. Apply what is happening in Hong Kong to the whole ASIA region and a number of 3G network rollouts could come to a grinding halt. Companies in the region will only allow travel for employees on an emergency basis. |
