Sony Ericsson UK Wireless Content Deal

14th May 2003

Europe : Sony Ericsson has signed its first UK deal to bring exclusive mobile content solutions to the mass market with Wizcom, developers of interactive mobile data solutions for the business and consumer markets.

Wizcom Ltd part of the Caudwell Group, is to offer a new range of ringtones and exclusive games for Sony Ericsson mobile phones to its sister company, Singlepoint (4u) Ltd's 1.8 million mobile subscribers and other Wizcom/Caudwell channels to market. The content includes additional levels of Tony Hawk Pro Skater4, exclusive to the Sony Ericsson T310 mobile phone, which is now available through Phones 4U stores. Wizcom will also offer additional Mophun(tm) titles, a new gaming solution for the mobile market, for both the T300 and T310 Sony Ericsson handsets.

Wizcom has custom-built its own Vision delivery platform to ensure the smooth supply of new content to consumers. The campaign launches as an SMS teaser to the Singlepoint subscriber base and will be followed by a range of further below the line marketing activity. The partnership is encouraged by recent figures that show that over 30,000 mobile phone games have been downloaded by Singlepoint customers since Wizcom launched its mobile games service on 1st March.

"The content market is one of huge growth. Games, ringtones and applications are fast becoming the way of personalising your phone and our agreement with Wizcom will bring lots of exciting content to market. We believe this partnership will bring quality content to Sony Ericsson mobile phone users" said Philip Rambech, Managing Director, UK and Ireland, Sony Ericsson.

Ian O'Reilly, Wizcom Director said: "Delivering these vibrant and exciting new products, specifically designed for Sony Ericsson handsets, has allowed us to greatly increase the depth of our overall customer offering. The project has allowed Wizcom to demonstrate its flexibility, speed and quality in the implementation of new technologies, which ultimately provides the user with a richer mobile entertainment experience. It is a
great endorsement to be the first company to sign a partnership deal of this type with Sony Ericsson."

The T310 mobile phone offers great gameplay with its joystick and colour display, takes advantage of its 32 polyphonic sounds and vibrating force feedback to bring as much of the game console feeling to the mobile environment as possible.
