3GPP Handset Testing Validated

20th May 2003

Europe : 3GPP 51.010-1 Test Cases for GSM handset testing have been validated on the ORGA Test Systems' IT¨ Test Platform

Paderborn, April 2003: ORGA Test Systems, the leading test equipment manufacturer for SIM/USIM interface testing, announces the validation of the 3GPP 51.010-1 test cases for GSM handset testing on the IT¨ test platform.

The new 51.010-1 test package has been validated and introduced to the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and replaces the old GSM 11.10-1 tests on ORGA Test Systems' SIM Simulator. The validated test package allows the testing of new technologies by providing 1.8V SIM interface and enhanced speed tests.

Consequently mobile manufacturers, module manufacturers, test houses, operators and any other involved organisations are now able to test product features developed on the basis of these technologies.

The test package 3GPP 51.010-1 is available for the IT¨ test platform and enables the full SIM interface conformance testing according to the latest GSM standards.

The IT¨ test platform covers the whole test range including electrical, protocol and application level testing. It can be used through all steps of the design process from the development phase to the final type approval. This is unique and provides the user of the system with unbeatable benefit as all test processes can be made in one single environment.

ORGA Test Systems provides test solutions to manufacturers, network operators and test houses for the development and conformance testing of 2G, 2.5G and 3G mobile terminals, EMV(EuropayMastercardVisa) terminals and Smart Cards. Its solutions enable handset manufacturers to deliver reliable and standard compliant products to market and network operators to test the interoperability between terminals and SIM/USIM cards. ORGA Test Systems has over 10 years of expertise in the areas of Smart Card interfaces and terminal conformance testing tools. ORGA Test Systems is located in Germany and has partner organisations in Asia and the USA.
