New Test Paltform for 3G W-CDMA

20th May 2003

Europe : CETECOM Spain (Centro de Tecnología de las Comunicaciones, S.A.) announces the launching of a new and fresh family of test platforms for mobile communications, MiNT, Mobile Communications INtegrated Tester.

MiNT is a modular platform covering the following products:
• RF Conformance Tester for GSM 850/900/1800/1900, GPRS and W-CDMA.
• Protocol Conformance Tester for W-CDMA based on the official 3GPP TTCN.
• Virtual Tester for layer 2 and 3 of W-CDMA user equipment protocol stacks.
• W-CDMA Network Emulator for physical layer and protocols testing.

This platform has been developed following the latest 3GPP test specifications and using state-of-the-art hardware and software tools, and provides modular products easy to maintain and upgrade.

CETECOM Spain’s wide experience in conformance testing makes these tools very functional and easy to use, and support a lot of facilities to reduce testing and analysis time, such as automatic test reports generation, ICS/IXIT handling, test cases mapping tools, etc.

“This is a natural evolution of our conformance test systems business, where we have achieved an excellent reputation and market share. Our current PSTN and Bluetooth testers are getting very good market recognition and we wish to repeat these successful stories. We hope that the Mobile Communications industry will appreciate CETECOM Spain as a good partner and will discover how good our products and technical support are”, said Andres Moreno, CETECOM Spain Telecommunications Director.

“We do expect some strong competition but quality, flexibility and customer service should help us to reach a good market share”. We are ready to make some alliances with global players who want to implement our MiNT Technology”, said Fernando E. Hardasmal, Deputy General Director at CETECOM Spain.
