|
23rd May 2003 |
|
Japan : NTT DoCoMo announced that the companies will launch an on-line payments service, named "DoCommerce," on May 26, 2003, enabling both 2G and 3G SSL-compatible handset users to enjoy mobile shopping and pay online with their VISA, or JCB credit cards. Initially, 10 virtual shops, including three malls and ten boutiques selling items such as accessories, perfumes and healthcare goods, will be on the DoCommerce dedicated site (http://dcmm.jp via i-mode handsets). An account aggregation feature enables DoCommerce users to check simultaneously, and on one single screen, the balances of their various financial accounts with banks, credit card companies, etc. By requiring just one password, this convenient solution greatly helps to save time by eliminating the need to access and view each account separately. Initially, 15 financial institutions will participate. |
