|
11th May , 2004 |
|
"Our combined mobile network gives up new opportunities to offer even better services via mobiles. We aim to help our customers discover how these new services can brighten their day and make life easier, which is why we are both proud and delighted to be able to offer users this unique opportunity to experience events at this summer's Olympic Games on their mobiles, " says Marie Ehrling, Head of the TeliaSonera Sweden. In an agreement with Sveriges Television (SVT), which owns the broadcasting rights in Sweden for the Athens Olympics, Telia has been granted sole rights to offer SVT material from the summer Olympic Games via mobiles. "The IOC, International Olympic Committee, has given us the opportunity to offer Olympic Games rights to mobile services too. We are delighted to be working with Telia, who are probably the first and only mobile operator in the world that can now offer its customers video content from the Olympic Games in Athens on their mobiles," says Remy Nilson, Head of Sport at Sveriges Television. The Olympic Games are usually a highpoint for TV viewers and to see the Olympics on their mobiles means they can follow events wherever they are. The Summer Olympic Games in Athens are being held from 13-29 August this year. Whether they are watching in the flesh, on TV or via a mobile phone, Swedish viewers can expect plenty of thrilling and exciting action. Swedish athletes with high hopes for medals include Carolina Kluft, Christian Olsson, Kajsa Bergqvist, Stefan Holm and many others. Telia will announce which mobile Olympic services it will be offering nearer the time. |
