iQuickStart 3G for Windows Mobile 5.0

US : Intrinsyc Software International announced it will be launching its new iQuickStart 3G technology program at Microsoft Mobile & Embedded DevCon 2005 (MEDC) in Las Vegas, Nev. The iQuickStart 3G Program extends support for Windows Mobile software to 3G and leverages Intrinsyc Software's licensable Radio Interface Layer (RIL) telephony components for Windows Mobile 5.0-based device development. Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 is Microsoft's latest mobile software platform offering, to be announced at MEDC on May 10, 2005.

"We are pleased Intrinsyc is announcing its new iQuickStart 3G program at MEDC and its support for Windows Mobile 5.0," said Chris Hill, group product manager for the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. "One of our goals for Windows Mobile 5.0 was to provide increased platform flexibility and support for network technologies including support for 3G networks."

The iQuickStart 3G Program is a fully customized technology solution that provides mobile and wireless device manufacturers with licensable tools, technology and services necessary to develop a 3G Windows Mobile 5.0-based device easily and efficiently. In addition to this, developers will be able to integrate new key features into their mobile phone designs such as customized user interfaces, high resolution camera support and enhanced battery life.

The use of the "iQuickStart" Program accelerates the device development cycle, which is a key issue faced by device makers today. Intrinsyc Software's iQuick Start program can accelerate a device manufacturer's development cycle by providing them with a comprehensive 3G focused Windows Mobile 5.0 binary based board support package customized for many popular platforms including Texas Instrument's OMAP and Intel's Xscale processors and industry modems.

The iQuickStart 3G Program responds to the recognized increase in demand for outsourcing mobile telephony services and Intrinsyc Software's licensable components. The program is supported by Intrinsyc Software's Mobile Solutions Team who will execute and provide in-house training at an additional cost, on the iQuickstart 3G program.

Consumers and businesses are demanding phones with advanced features such as enterprise connectivity, music players, digital cameras, streaming video, gaming and multimedia messaging. These features are expected to drive demand for mobile phones to more than 700 million units in 2005. "With this demand, and the increasing development issues that wireless and handheld device manufacturers are experiencing, developing an easy "go-to" package for Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0-based device development is a winning strategic move for our company, and further shows our commitment to helping the Microsoft Windows Mobile-based design ecosystem," said Derek Spratt, CEO of Intrinsyc Software.
