O2 Deliver New Calendar Application

22nd May , 2009

UK : Critical Path announced that its Memova® suite of applications and services powers the new O2 Calendar, a key component of O2’s recently launched in-home device, the O2 Joggler. In the development of the O2 Joggler, Critical Path worked closely with the O2 team to develop a best-in-class user experience to help families organise their busy lives and stay connected with each other.

The new O2 Calendar, powered by Critical Path, is available on the O2 Joggler (pictured above) and as a stand-alone, free service on the Web. It provides a simple and convenient way for families to better manage their lives and is available to anyone, regardless of network. Customers with the O2 calendar can text from their mobile to add new events and see what is happening on any particular day. Plus O2 customers can set up free text reminders to their mobile so they never forget a key event again!

The O2 Joggler is a touch-screen device aimed at helping families manage their lifestyles and stay connected. The device is typically placed in a busy kitchen or living room, and connects to the home broadband either wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable. The O2 Joggler makes it quick and easy to keep in touch with the family and organize family life. It can also play videos, music, and pictures, as well as provide access to important internet services such as weather, traffic, plus news and sports headlines.

“The O2 Calendar service is a core part of the value proposition of the O2 Joggler,” said Alistair Johnston, Marketing Director at Telefónica O2 UK. “Critical Path is a long standing partner for us and has been instrumental in helping us develop a great customer experience around the Calendar.”

“We look forward to continuing to work with O2 on the evolution of the O2 Joggler”, said David Longley, Vice President, North EMEA, Critical Path. “The launch of the O2 Joggler once again demonstrates the focus O2 places on innovation and the commitment of the company to providing unique value-added solutions for their customers.”

The O2 Joggler launched on May 6th and is priced at GBP 149.99 or for free if taken in place of a handset upgrade. The O2 Calendar is also now available and will be free of charge when used online.
