Europe : MetaSolv Software announced that mobilkom austria, a leader in advanced mobile services in Europe, has selected MetaSolv Network Mediation as the convergent mediation platform for its GSM, GPRS and UMTS services. Based in Vienna, mobilkom austria provides services to more than three million subscribers.

MetaSolv Network Mediation is a next-generation, convergent mediation solution that enables mobilkom austria to quickly implement flexible service pricing plans based on duration, usage, content, events, and services accessed. Network Mediation combines support for GSM voice switches with a vendor-independent GPRS & UMTS Charging Gateway, and support for a broad suite of SMS, MMS, and WAP application servers.

MetaSolv Network Mediation has now been sold into more than 30 communication service providers, including 18 mobile operators. As service providers seek to offer differentiated, next-generation services, MetaSolv Network Mediation offers advantages over existing systems, including rapid integration and reduced maintenance costs.

A key to the success of the implementation of the MetaSolv Network Mediation solution is mobilkom austria's long-term relationship with Kapsch CarrierCom AG, MetaSolv's system integration partner in Austria. Kapsch CarrierCom AG was able to meet mobilkom austria's specific requirements by working collaboratively with MetaSolv to leverage the inherent flexibility of Network Mediation.
