Austria's First 3G Videomail for 3

Europe Austria : Hutchison 3G Austria (H3G) announced that it will launch the first mobile Videomail service in Austria one month ahead of Christmas, just in time to send festive video-greeting to friends and relatives. The service is facilitated by LogicaCMG's uOne(TM) solution. H3G's 266,000 subscribers across the country will now have access to this exciting mobile service.

The solution uses integrated messaging technology to ensure high quality Videomail services by using GPRS, UMTS or Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) for guaranteed delivery even in the most remote areas of the country. The Videomail roll out, under its consumer brand `3', is expected to help the company to remain Austria's UMTS market leader, whilst continuing to drive high average revenue per user (ARPU) from mobile data services

Videomail is the enriched multimedia version of traditional voicemail, taking advantage of the enhanced capabilities of 3G networks. With LogicaCMG's uOne platform, when a call is unanswered, the caller receives a personalised video greeting from the recipient followed by the option to record a video message in return. The recipient has the option of retrieving the new videomail message through a video call to their mailbox or accessing it via MMS, e-mail or a web browser.

For the first time, 3Customers in Austria can also select from a range of Videomail greetings recorded by well-known celebrities. H3G is the first operator to introduce the popular celebrity voicemail greeting and takes this service to the next level by introducing rich video greetings of chosen celebrities accessible through their web portal.
