Teleca’s Obigo Browser is embedded in the new 3G/GSM handset from Panasonic Mobile Communications, SoftBank 705P, launched on 7 October 2006 for Japanese operator SOFTBANK MOBILE Corp., formerly known as Vodafone K.K.

The SoftBank 705P project is of great importance, as it demonstrates Teleca’s ability to work on a global and local scale. Teleca’s role in the development of the phone included supplying and integrating Obigo Browser, which was customised and enhanced in order to meet new requirements on the Japanese mobile market.

“Teleca has once more proven to meet our high requirements both for delivery time and quality,” says Mr. Noritake Okada, General Manager of Project Management Office of PMC.

“We are very happy that Panasonic turned to Teleca and trusted us with the task of integrating Obigo Browser into the first Softbank handset on the quality-conscious Japanese market,” says Eric Ljungberg, VP, Teleca APAC.

Teleca is a world-leading consulting company that develops and integrates advanced software and IT solutions. Teleca helps its customers shorten development times and use the most suitable technology more effectively. The company consists of about 3,500 experts based in 17 countries in Asia, Europe and North America. Teleca is quoted on the Mid cap list of The Nordic Exchange.
