: Axesstel, Inc. announced that it is joining forces with Airvana,
Inc., a provider of All-IP, third-generation (3G) CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
infrastructure, to demonstrate live LAN backhaul over 1xEV-DO at the
3G World Congress in Hong Kong.
The
3G World Congress is the premier conference and exhibition for emerging
3G wireless technologies and is being held at the Hong Kong Conference
and Exhibition Center from November 15, 2004, through November 19,
2004. Axesstel and Airvana will also provide conference attendees
with the opportunity to experience VoIP and Broadband Internet access
over 1xEV-DO first-hand at the Internet Cafe located in Airvana's
booth (#1007).
The demonstrations
will highlight the benefits of Axesstel's AXW-D800, an Ethernet-based
1xEV-DO fixed wireless broadband modem, together with Airvana's 100%
IP-Enabled infrastructure in delivering high-speed wireless data services
to mobile professionals, VoIP subscribers, residential broadband users
and consumers of multimedia information and entertainment.
"We are excited
about giving our customers the opportunity to experience our innovative
product in a live environment," said Lixin Cheng, President of
Axesstel Wireless Group. "Our mission at Axesstel is to deliver
next-generation products that bridge the digital divide and offer
1xEV-DO operators the ability to provide a level of broadband data
service that their competitors simply cannot match."
Service providers
are deploying CDMA2000 1xEV-DO worldwide as a high-speed mobile data
service for cell phones, PDAs and laptops. It is flexible enough to
support mobile applications or act as a low-cost, fixed wireless broadband
data service. 1xEV-DO can also be deployed inexpensively on existing
networks, either by upgrading an existing base station with a channel
card or by overlaying the existing network with low cost CDMA2000
1xEV-DO base stations. With an overlay solution, existing CDMA, TDMA,
GSM and new "greenfield" operators can all enjoy the revenue
opportunities of 1xEV-DO.
"The speed
and flexibility of 1xEV-DO allows operators to cost effectively roll
out Broadband Internet access services in many parts of the world,"
said Sanjeev Verma, co-founder, vice president of marketing and business
development at Airvana. "1xEV-DO is unmatched by any other wireless
technology in its ability to deliver Broadband Internet services,
mobile Internet access for enterprise customers and consumer multimedia
applications to handsets over the same network."
