Orange Launches 3G PAYG Tariff And Handsets In Time Xmas

Europe : Orange today launches its first pay as you go tariff for 3G customers in the run up to Christmas.

The 3G PAYG tariff allows pay as you go customers to use 3G handsets which benefit from faster download speeds and the advanced range of services available on Orange’s 3G network. 3G PAYG handsets will be available at Orange stores and online at www.orange.co.uk from 1st October with handsets starting from £79.99.

Orange has released a range of 3G PAYG handsets, with a different handset for all the family:

· For him: The Nokia 6680 delivers access to the entire range of 3G services including Orange TV, Orange Music Player, Email on the move, Orange World news, entertainment , video and games, and off portal browsing. The perfect gift for the man who must have the very latest and greatest in mobile technology but who doesn’t want to be tied down to a fixed contract.

· For her: The Sony Ericsson K600i is the perfect mix of sleek, stylish design combined with solid 3G functionality at an affordable price. With video calling capabilities and access to a range of free TRY 3G services this small handset will look good in any situation.

· For the kids: The Nokia 6630 is a great value phone that is both robust and easy to use. With fast 3G access to music and game downloads and the ability to explore the mobile web beyond, this handset is a real Christmas cracker for kids.

“Opening up our 3G network to Pay As You Go customers means that they can now access all our great 3G services, with the ease and value of our pay as you go tariff,” said Jim Graham, Pay As You Go Marketing Director at Orange. “Pay As You Go Users will also be able to access the UK’s first mobile TV service Orange TV, as well as enjoy faster downloads for games and music.”

The Orange 3G network is the largest integrated 3G/2G network in the UK covering over 85% of the UK.

The pricing plan for 3G PAYG customers has been designed with simplicity in mind. There is one charge for calls and text, regardless of the time you use the phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all calls.

PAYG customers will be able to use the TRY before you buy service to preview all of the Orange 3G services for free, including video calling, TV and video messaging for a limited period. They will also have access to the Orange Prepay-Repay reward service, and other value bundles.
