Cingular Selects Andrew’s Invex3G Test System |

Under the agreement, Andrew will install its Invex3G® wireless network drive test system in specially-equipped Cingular vehicles for collecting network data in wireless markets across the U.S. The data collected by Invex3G during drive testing will help Cingular quickly identify and remedy competitive network quality and coverage issues that may impact subscribers. Cingular recently announced its technicians, along with other third parties, will drive test its network nearly 30 million miles—and invest more than $6 billion—in the next year to improve network coverage and quality. This is part of the company’s continuing focus on providing customers with the best wireless experience possible. The company selected Andrew’s Invex3G competitive bench marker as its measurement solution after extensive field trials. “Andrew’s Invex3G system will enable technicians to gather the data required to fine tune our network,” said Mike Pietropola, vice president of network operations, Cingular Wireless. “The network is the foundation of our business. Invex3G provides critical quality-of-service measurements including mean opinion scores, data throughput, and call details. and simultaneously can scan multiple radio frequency carriers for
