Nokia 6788 - Nokia's First 3G Mobile In China

China : Nokia have confirmed the Nokia 6788, which is its first TD-SCDMA phone in China.
TD-SCDMA is the Chinese equivalent of 3G in the United Kingdom and enables faster network speeds. To produce the mobile Nokia has collaborated with China Mobile, China’s largest mobile phone operator.
The Nokia 6788 has been designed to complement China Mobiles network and offers rich data services. It has a 5 mega-pixel camera camera with dual-LED flash, as well as a 2.8 inch QVGA screen.
The Nokia 6788 runs on the Symbian S60 operating system and enables people to share the things that matter to them most.
The Nokia 6788 features Chinese elements in its design, such as Chinese patterns on the back of the slide and battery cover.
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, CEO of Nokia said : "Nokia sees TD-SCDMA as being central to the successful evolution of 3G in China, and so is fully committed to this 3G standard. With a wide range of integrated China Mobile applications, the Nokia 6788 marks a new level of collaboration with China Mobile and offers enriched experiences to China's 3G users. Nokia plans to introduce more TD-SCDMA phones in the near future, further boosting the development of this 3G standard in China."
The Nokia 6788 is expected to ship in December 2009.
