Nokia N900 Gets Plug In for Sharing
26th October , 2009
Europe : The Nokia N900 has had a nifty peice of software added to it called Pixelpipe. Pixelpipe allows you to upload videos, audio files and photos from your mobile phone, in this case the Nokia N900, to over one hundred social networking sites and more. It’s a free application from Pixelpipe and can be downloaded from the Nokia Ovi store.
Pixelpipe have designed and implemented a “Plug-In” for the Nokia N900 which interfaces with the Nokia N900’s Nokia share architecture.
In the Nokia N900 video below, Brett Butterfield shows us how, using a Nokia N900, he takes a photo on the Nokia N900 and then hits the Pixelpipe share icon, this application allows you to add the title / description for the photo and also shows the GPS location where the photo was taken.
It gets a bit more interesting when you hit the Tags icon and the Pixelpipe tag screen appears. This allows you to add tags to the photo to Pixelpipe’s list of Social Networking sites such as Twitter, Picasa etc.
Once that has been processed on the Nokia N900, head off to the Pixelpipe website, locate your photo on your previously set up Pixelpipe account to view your update. You can also check that it’s been uploaded to Twitter etc and hey presto it has been auto uploaded to Twitter. Nice work Pixelpipe.
