Europe : A software update for the Nokia N97 has been released by Nokia.

The Nokia N97 software update 2.0 is available from the Nokia Software update now.

The new update comes just in time for the release of the Nokia N97 mini (pictured above) , which is released this week and will cost around 450 euros. The N97 mini has a 3.2 inch display, QWERTY keyboard and will fully support the new software update.

The software update 2.0 brings many improvements, with the first being “flip scrolling”, which makes scrolling even smoother. It also enables shortcuts to be used on your home-screen, which can be personalized to your needs.

The update also updates Ovi Maps to its latest version 3.1 and adds Nokia e-mail support. It also enables support for Ovi contacts and the Ovi store.

We’ll be bringing you news of the Nokia N97 mini later this week and will also bring you details of further software updates.
