US : A new 3G solution for Rich Communications has been launched. The new 3G Rich Communications solution is based on RCS (Rich Communication Suite ) which is an initiative from the GSM Association.
The new solution from Mavenir is aimed at 3G mobile operators and offers a cost effective route to revenue generation via social networking and 3G multimedia services.
The 3G Rich Communications solution allows 3G mobile operators to launch new services over 3G, 3G LTE and WiMax networks. The platform the solution operates on is the Mavenir mOne Convergence Platform and provides and multimedia content sharing, presence-enabled contact list, group messaging and instant messaging (IM).
Mavenir will demonstrate a real time demo with an Android-based client at the Rich Communications 2009 event in Paris next month. Mavenir also provides differentiators such as delivery of MSC-based voice services over IP, buddy locator, social networks aggregation and synchronization and backward compatibility of GSMA RCS-based IM with traditional SMS and MMS messaging.
