Samsung Blue Earth

Europe: Samsung have announced a new environmentally friendly mobile, the Samsung Blue Earth.

The Samsung Blue Earth has been attracting a lot of attention in the media, like anything to do with the reducing carbon emissions do.

The Samsung Blue Earth aims to reduce energy consumption without sacrificing on features.

The Samsung Blue Earth has a 3.2 megapixel camera, an FM radio and microSD support up to 16GB.

Samsung is doing everything in its power to reduce its economic impact and the Blue Earth is the latest development in the process.

The Samsung Blue Earth is made from “Post Consumer Material”, which comes from water bottles to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in the production stage. The whole package including charger is free from harmful plastics and substances.

The phones software comes loaded with “Eco Mode”, which reduces the phones energy consumption through reducing the brightness, the time the backlight is on and setting the Bluetooth to a low energy setting.

The Samsung Blue Earth also has an “Eco Walk” function, which acts as a pedometer to calculate the reduction in CO2 you save by walking over driving a car. It will output how many trees your walk has saved you.

The packaging of the Blue Earth is made from recycled paper and printed with soy ink, reducing the phones social impact further still.

The charger for the Blue Earth received the maximum energy efficiency score and the Blue Earth has a solar panel on its back, which can be used to generate enough power for the phone to operate.

The Samsung Blue Earth will launch across Europe in October.
