18th September 2003

US : Aeroflex Incorporated announced that its Racal Instruments Wireless Solutions Group (WSG) received orders from three separate U.S. companies worth $1.8 million.

Inset is a RF and protocol conformance test systems and protocol R&D test systems to support the entire development cycle for mobiles.

These orders, which are expected to ship in 90 days, provide further evidence of WSG's position as a leading supplier of EGPRS and AMR conformance test systems. The test systems are designed to give WSG's customers further coverage and capability to test and validate AMR and EGPRS chipsets used at the heart of GSM mobile phones.

Peter Connell, business unit director of Racal Instruments Wireless Solutions, believes that WSG's position as a market leader in the development of AMR and EGPRS test systems has been key to winning these orders. Commenting on the orders, he said, "There is uncertainty regarding the platforms and solutions that are currently available from other suppliers. Our approach is one of partnership, whereby we are able to help our customers expedite the testing and validation of their terminals."

WSG has been working on its 2.5G products and technology for more than three years. They are based on test systems delivered to all major mobile manufacturers and are designed to assist them in their developments of GPRS, EGPRS and AMR.
