Inset is the PTL 650 in silver ( spec at bottom of page ). Primus is a global communications company with a worldwide network covering North America, Australia, Europe and Asia-Pacific. It is best known in the UK for its range of virtual mobile network operations (VMNO) and its Planet Talk range of value calling options including carrier pre-select and pre-paid calling cards. The portfolio will launch with the Primus PTL 650, a value-range, low-end, mono screen handset with superior build quality. It is available at Primus phone shops, at airports and on the high street, through mobile dealers and directly through the Primus website and call centre. The phone will initially be launched in the UK, with a wider European roll out to follow. Dr Lisa Hazelden, general manager, Primus Mobiles Europe said: “The launch of the mobile portfolio is an exciting development for Primus. We already have strong business and consumer customer bases and extensive experience in the mobile market through our range of value calling options. Producing mobile handsets is the next logical extension to our business. Since entering the UK market in 1998, Primus has offered our business, domestic and mobile customers excellent service and value for money. The launch of the mobile handsets will enable us to reach new audiences whilst building on our current customer base. “Our research shows that there is a gap in the market for a robust, value for money, SIM free handset. Our small, lightweight phone has a wide appeal; the stylish design is ideal for the fashion conscious and the easy to navigate functionality makes it the perfect choice for an upgrade or second handset. Because the phones are sold unlocked and SIM free, customers have the freedom to choose the network and payment method that best suits them. Naturally it’s challenging entering a market with so many established players, but we are confident that we have a strong product portfolio.” The Primus PTL 650 is now available. It comes in five colours and is ideal for both personal and professional use. It is dual band and has a range of basic features. As with all phones in the portfolio the PTL 650 is compatible with all the major UK networks. Primus
