US : Sunrise Telecom announced that its Mobile X-Ray mobile data services analysis platform has been selected by Telefonica O2 Germany to provide service monitoring and troubleshooting for its growing data service program.
At the core of the program, O2 will utilize Sunrise Telecom's Traffic Analysis and Monitoring System (TAMS) with the Mobile X-Ray application module, as well as the 3GMaster Probe/Protocol Analyzer for network monitoring and troubleshooting of new mobile data services. The combined solution was selected because of its ability to monitor and optimize the actual "customer experience" by intelligently correlating inputs from network, service, subscriber and device elements themselves.
"Compared to traditional voice services, mobile data services introduce a new set of complicated challenges for operators," said Konstantinos Sifakis, Director at O2. "Not only must we ensure high service quality from the customers' perspective, but this must be done in a mixed-technology, mixed-protocol environment. Sunrise Telecom has proven that they not only have the tools to support this environment, but as a company they truly understand our operational issues as well."
The new agreement comes on the heels of a multi-year engagement where Sunrise Telecom was selected for O2's massive mobile network core and access optimization projects, which set the foundation for its mobile data service initiative in Germany.
"We are pleased to continue our long standing relationship with O2, and are honored to be selected for this critical project," said Michele Campriani, General Manager of Sunrise Telecom's Protocol Products Group. "We work with many mobile operators across the globe, and feel that O2 exemplifies state-of-the-art in their approach to mobile data service migration."
