High Speed Net Solutions, Inc., d/b/a Summus (OTC: HSNS), today announced that they have successfully demonstrated over-the-air video transmission of the BlueFuel(TM) Video module on the Kyocera Wireless Corp. QCP 3035 mobile phone. BlueFuel Video is a SuperFast-SuperThin(TM) media module designed to enable a range of video applications on mobile phones and other wireless devices. The Kyocera Wireless Corp. QCP 3035 mobile phone used for the demonstration is currently available from selected wireless service providers and retail outlets. Summus also demonstrated BlueFuel Video on two color mobile phones from other major manufacturers, which will be available in the near future. All of the mobile phone demonstrations featured the downloading and display of video clips over the Verizon CDMA network with a bandwidth of four to seven kilobits per second. The video clips were downloaded from a Summus media server in Raleigh, North Carolina. "This was our second live, over-the-air demonstration of a BlueFuel media module and the BlueFuel media server, affirming our strategic vision to enable higher quality multimedia applications for moderately priced mobile phones on today's networks. The fact that the BlueFuel Video module can run smoothly on an inexpensive mobile phone, such as the Kyocera QCP 3035, is a testament to that commitment," said John Maxwell, Summus vice president of marketing. |
