Overview

Three HomeFi or Home Broadband

Huawei HomeFi is a near-unique product and one which could prove near-essential for certain people.

It’s essentially a small black box that provides home broadband, but while it looks like a normal router it doesn’t use fibre cables to pipe internet into your home or office, instead it uses Three’s network, with the help of an included SIM card.

This makes it an incredibly simple plug-and-play device, so you don’t need an engineer visit and can get up and running instantly. It also means you don’t need a home landline, potentially saving you a lot of money in the process, and if you can’t get fast wired broadband where you are, Huawei HomeFi could be a speedy alternative.

Speaking of speed, as it uses Three’s network it can reach 4G speeds of up to 150Mbps, and HomeFi can get up to 32 devices online at once, over a distance of up to 250 metres, so it works in even the largest homes.

And with a choice of either one or twelve-month contracts you’re not tied in for as long as a typical broadband contract either, making it great if you’re only staying in your current accommodation for a short amount of time, or even to use as a stopgap while you wait for your proper broadband to get up and running.

All that and Huawei HomeFi is cheap too, so if you want affordable, simple, speedy broadband that you can get set up mere minutes after the box arrives, HomeFi really is hard to beat.
