Overview

Honor (a sub-brand of Huawei) consistently releases some of the very best value phones and the Honor 20 is one of its best yet.

While this has just a mid-range price it is spectacularly well-equipped, to the point where it comes with four cameras on the back, trumping many phones that cost twice as much.

These include a 48MP f/1.8 main lens, a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide one, a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. So it’s adept at shooting in most situations, and in the case of the macro lens has a kind that most phones lack, making it a top choice for close ups. There’s also an impressively high-spec 32MP camera on the front.

Speaking of the front, that’s dominated by a big 6.26-inch display, with a 1080 x 2340 resolution and a 412ppi pixel density. And the front really is almost all screen – there’s hardly any bezel, and the camera is housed in a tiny cut-out.

The Honor 20 is no less impressive from the back, with a reflective, colourful glass rear, similar to the one that wowed us on the Honor 10.

And it’s more than just a good-looking camera phone, as it’s also packed full of power, with a high-end octa-core Kirin 980 chipset (the same as you’ll find in the likes of the Huawei P30 Pro) and 6GB of RAM.

The Honor 20 also has a sizeable 3750mAh battery with fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a beefy 128GB of storage. It’s the kind of phone that really makes you question the wisdom of paying for a flagship.
