The OnePlus 9 Pro is a phone that doesn’t make any compromises, anywhere on its specs list. But with cameras currently being one of the main ways flagship phones stand out, it’s no surprise that they’re among the highlights here.
The OnePlus 9 Pro has a quad-lens camera, with a 48MP main one, a 50MP ultra-wide one, an 8MP telephoto one (capable of 3.3x optical zoom), and a 2MP depth sensor.
These cameras are made in collaboration with renowned camera brand Hasselblad, and benefit from things like a larger sensor than you’ll find in most smartphones (allowing for more detailed snaps), and a freeform ultra-wide lens, which avoids distortion at the edges – something that most smartphone ultra-wide cameras suffer from.
The display is another high point, with the OnePlus 9 Pro packing a 6.7-inch 1440 x 3216 AMOLED one with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and 525 pixels per inch. There’s a whole lot of jargon there, but in short it’s bright, sharp and smooth, standing up well even to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The OnePlus 9 Pro stands up when it comes to power too, thanks to a top-end Snapdragon 888 chipset and 8GB of RAM, ensuring this is up there with 2021’s most powerful phones.
The design excels as well of course, with a metal frame, and a glass back in a choice of eye-catching colours. It’s also water and dust resistant, has an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and supports 5G.
Finally, there’s a 4,500mAh battery inside, offering lots of life, and with 65W charging you can charge it to full in just 29 minutes. Or go wireless with 50W charging that can go from 0-70% in just 30 minutes.
