Overview

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is one of the biggest phones on the planet, as well as being one of the most powerful and feature-packed.

There’s a lot to dig into, but the star is surely its 6.4-inch 1440 x 2960 curved screen. It comes in at a crystal-clear 516 pixels per inch and as it’s Super AMOLED the colours are bright and vibrant.

To help you make the most of that display the Galaxy Note 9 comes with an S Pen stylus, so you can write and sketch like you would on paper. That’s not new to the Note range, but what is new is the S Pen’s ability to act as a remote, letting you play and pause videos, take photos and more with a click.

Samsung has also packed a huge battery into the Galaxy Note 9, specifically a 4,000mAh one. That’s one of the biggest batteries you’ll find in a mainstream phone, so there shouldn’t be any danger of running out of juice mid-way through the day.

Then there’s the camera. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has much the same camera hardware as the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and that’s no bad thing, as that means it has a dual-lens rear camera, with one lens able to switch between two different apertures.

Coupled with clever AI scene detection this means your shots should always come out great, and if for any reason they don’t, the Note 9 will instantly alert you, so you have a chance to take another photo.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 also has a design that’s every bit as premium as you’d expect, with a glass back, a metal frame, slim bezels and water resistance.

There’s also more power than you’ll know what to do with, thanks to a top-end Exynos 9810 octa-core chipset clocked at up to 2.7GHz and paired with up to 8GB of RAM.

You’ll be able to keep the phone secure with a combo of fingerprint scanning, face scanning and even iris scanning, there’s up to a mammoth 512GB of storage inside (along with a microSD card slot), and you can even hook the Note 9 up to a monitor, using a simple cable, and get a desktop-like experience. In other words, there’s very little this phone can’t do.
