Overview

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the ultimate Samsung smartphone, and really the ultimate phone full stop. This isn’t just the biggest, best, and most powerful model in the Samsung Galaxy S22 range, it also takes all the best bits from a Samsung Galaxy Note, packing in an S Pen stylus and a slot to store it.

That means you can sketch, take notes, and edit with a stylus, and never worry about losing it because it slots into the body of the phone.

And what a phone. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 6.8-inch 1440 x 3088 AMOLED screen with 500 pixels per inch, a 120Hz variable refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a blindingly bright 1,750 nits of maximum brightness, so no amount of sunlight will wash this screen out.

On the power front, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a truly top-end Exynos 2200 chipset, and it also has up to 12GB of RAM – which is more than you’ll get in the rest of the Galaxy S22 range. There’s a mammoth amount of storage too, with up to 1TB built in.

The cameras are another real highlight, as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a quad-lens one, with an immensely high-spec 108MP main sensor, coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide one and a pair of 10MP telephoto ones. Why two telephoto cameras? So that you can zoom to two different levels – a conventional 3x, and a class-leading 10x, for really distant subjects.

These cameras are packed full of shooting modes too, including a Nightography mode that makes low light woes a thing of the past, and with a 40MP front-facing camera your selfies will look great too.

You also get a massive 5,000mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which can charge incredibly fast, at up to 45W. There’s wireless charging as well, and reverse wireless charging, plus 5G, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, water resistance, and a stylish build of toughened glass and metal.
