If you’re a Sony fan then you probably already know all about the Xperia XZ. After all it’s a seriously accomplished flagship phone, packed to the rafters with specs and features.
That of course means it carries a flagship price, but you’re still getting a lot of phone for your money, with the Xperia XZ retailing for £639.99 on Three pay as you go, or from £27 per month with £149 upfront on a 24-month contract, which also include 500MB of data, 300 minutes and unlimited texts – though of course far greater allowances are also available on other tariffs.
Other than your allowances, the real reason to spend that money is to get your hands on one of the best phones of 2016, especially if you’re a fan of mobile photography, as the Xperia XZ excels there.
It has a 23MP snapper, which is around double the megapixel count of many rivals, so snaps are sharp and detailed. But it also has both phase detection and a laser autofocus, which combine to help it shoot moving objects, so your photos always come out in focus.
The front-facing camera impresses too, as this has a 13MP sensor, so your selfies can look almost as detailed as your other photos.
The design of the Sony Xperia XZ is also worth highlighting, as its metal back gives it a premium look, but it’s also dust and water resistant, so it’s surprisingly strong too.
This being a high-end phone there’s plenty of power of course, with a Snapdragon 820 processor and 3GB of RAM, while the screen is a high quality 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 panel.
Rounding out the specs there’s a fingerprint scanner for enhanced security, 32GB or 64GB of storage plus a microSD card slot, so you have plenty of space, and stereo speakers for great sound.
