Acer have unveiled two of the smartphones they'll be showcasing at this years Mobile World Congress which starts next week in Barcelona. Both the Acer Liquid E1 and the Acer Liquid Z2 run on Android Jelly Bean and will be available in dual-SIM models !
The Acer Liquid E1 (pictured above) is the more premium of the new smartphones and has been designed with multimedia fans in mind.
The smartphone has a 4.5 inch display running at a resolution of 960*540 pixels (qHD) and comes dual-speakers and support for DTS Sound ensuring maximum volume. The Liquid E1 is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor and has 1GB of RAM.
Acer's Liquid E1 has 4GB of on-board memory which thankfully can be expanded using microSD cards. The Android mobile also has a 5 mega-pixel camera and a front-facing 0.3 mega-pixel snapper for video calling.
One novel featured included on the Acer Liquid E1 is the new "Float Caller" feature which alerts you of an incoming call or text with a small pop-up rather than taking over your whole display. We're pretty impressed by the idea and are keen to try it out !
The Acer Liquid Z2 (pictured above) is an affordable Android Jelly Bean smartphone which has a smaller 3.5 inch touch-screen. The display runs at a resolution of 480×320 pixels, while the mobile has a dual-core 1 GHz processor and 512MB of RAM.
The Liquid Z2 comes with either a 3 mega-pixel or 5 mega-pixel camera and we expect it depends on whether you choose the dual-SIM or single-SIM version of the mobile. The smartphone weighs just 110g and comes with 3G and WiFi connectivity.
Just like the Liquid E1 the Liquid Z2 will be available in a choice of pearl white and carbon black and will be showcased next week at this years Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Both smartphones are due to go on sale in the UK at the start of March and we'll bring you more news on their prices and exact launch date when we get more news. However, we don't expect that to be before the Mobile World Congress which starts on February 24th.
