Most tech isn’t particularly child friendly, but the Amazon Fire Kids Edition is, and now for a limited time it’s also incredibly cheap, with Three offering a £108 saving on it if you’re an existing customer.
That offer runs until Wednesday the 23rd and gets you the Amazon Fire Kids Edition tablet for £12 per month with no upfront cost on a 24-month contract, with 2GB of monthly data included. The saving is versus the normal monthly price, and saves you the full £108 over the 24-month life of the contract, making the tablet brilliantly cheap and a great Christmas present for young children.
It’s a durable, colourful slate, that can survive a drop and is small enough for a child to operate. It also has a kid-friendly interface and parental controls, allowing you to limit their screen time or what they can access.
And there’s plenty to access, with a year’s subscription of Fire for Kids Unlimited thrown in, giving you thousands of children’s books, games, videos and educational apps, so your child will stay endlessly entertained and even learn something.
It’s a top tablet then, especially at this price, and you’re not likely to find it any cheaper before Christmas, with Three claiming that these early deals are to reward existing customers and are better than what it will be offering to the general public on Black Friday.
Note though that you can’t get the Amazon Fire Kids Edition as an upgrade on your account, instead you have to buy it as a second device, or for anyone else in your household – but as you probably don’t want a kid’s tablet as your main slate that shouldn’t be a problem.
