You might not know the name Doro, but it could soon become a much bigger name, as the company, known primarily for feature phones and basic smartphones, has just started selling the Doro 6520 on Three. See deal
Why is that significant? Well, because that means Doro’s devices are now available on all four major UK mobile networks, along with eight other retail partners, so almost anywhere you might want to buy a phone, you’ll be able to find a Doro one.
That will help the company with its goal of overtaking Alcatel and Nokia to become number one for feature phones.
And Doro’s phones are ones you might want, whether you don’t feel the need for a pricey handset, are buying your first somewhat-smart phone, or want a secondary handset that doesn’t cost the Earth.
In the case of the Doro 6520 you’d be getting a clamshell device with a 2.8-inch screen, backlit keys, a 2MP camera and basic features like a calendar, email and internet access, plus a calculator and an FM radio.
Like many Doro devices the 6520 is also suited to the hard of hearing, as it’s compatible with hearing aids and can be set to a very high volume. There’s also an assistance button, which can be held down to automatically dial a selection of numbers.
The Doro 6520 is launching on Three on the 16th of December and is set to start at just £49.99, so it could make for a great Christmas present if anyone you’re buying for needs a feature phone, especially as many Three plans come with 3 months free for a limited time.
