Huawei have taken to the stage at MWC 2014 to unveil the Huawei Ascend G6 and the Ascend G6 4G. They both share a common specification including a lightweight, slimline design and an enhanced smartphone camera experience.
The Huawei Ascend G6 devices both have 4.5 inch qHD displays (960*540 pixels) and are powered by quad-core 1.2GHz processors, have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. They adopt the same stylish ‘double C’ design introduced by the Ascend P6 smartphone.
The affordable Android Jelly Bean (4.3) smartphones come with a rear-facing 8 mega-pixel camera and a 'best-in-class' front-facing 5 mega-pixel snapper. You'll be able to capture the perfect 'selfie' using Huawei's voice-activated hands-free ‘selfie’ function, while it also comes with a whole host of other great camera features and modes.
The main focus at the event was understandably on the 4G LTE enabled model which is just 7.85mm thick and weighs just 115g. It'll be available in a range of colors including black with light gun metal grey or rose gold highlights, or in white with pink or champagne gold.
While, the 3G model is even thinner at just 7.5mm and will be offered in a choice of black, white, pink, gold or blue.
“HUAWEI Ascend G6 4G is a stylish, colorful, and lightning fast smartphone designed to break down barriers,” said Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group. “With its handy 4G LTE connectivity, easy to use interface and dynamic cameras offering a multitude of photographic opportunities, Huawei is delivering on our promise to ‘Make it Possible’ for more people around the world.”
The Huawei Ascend G6 will be available in the 1st quarter of 2014, while the Ascend G6 4G will touchdown in April. No details on price we're given but both versions should come in under £200.
