Previously we were led to believe that LG would be unveiling the Optimus G2 at this years Mobile World Congress which takes place at the start of next month. However, it now looks like we may have to wait significantly longer for LG's smartphone.
New information, reported by CNET, suggests that LG won't unveil the Optimus G2 until the Autumn of this year. The smartphone is most likely to launch at the end of May or the start of June which would make it a year since the launch of the original Optimus G.
Even though it's always disappointing having to wait for something for longer than you expected there will be some benefits. The main advantage is that the LG Optimus G2 could launch on Android Key Lime Pie, which wouldn't have been a possibility if it was unveiled next month.
Additionally, LG have more time to develop the smartphone and ensure they have included the best possible specification. Previous leaks have hinted at the specification of the smartphone which highlight its premium nature.
The LG Optimus G2 is rumoured to have a 5 inch touch-screen (1920*1080 pixels) which will feature a bezel-less design. Powering the smartphone is a 2 GHz Snapdragon processor, while it's also expected to have 3GB of RAM.
Other features rumoured to be included in the Optimus G2 include a 13 mega-pixel camera and support for 4G , while it'll ship running Android Key Lime Pie. As soon as 3G get more information about LG's smartphone you'll be the first to know.
