Sony's Xperia E1 will ship on March 10th and costs just £149.99
3G brought you exclusive information last month that the Sony Xperia E1 would begin shipping in the UK in March. Our information - obtained from a source inside a UK retailer - has now proved correct because the smartphone is now available to pre-order on Amazon.
Sony's music-orientated smartphone is now available to pre-order on Amazon for just £149.99 with the release date listed as March 10th. All 3 colour variants (White, Black and Purple) are available to pre-order today and they'll all land on your doorstep in just over a months time.
None of the UK's operators have confirmed they'll be stocking the Xperia E1, but it will go on sale on the Carphone Warehouse when it lands in the UK (no pre-orders just yet though).
Sony's Xperia E1 is designed for those who love music and comes complete with a 100Db speaker which offers “a louder, cleaner sound that can hold its own in any environment.” It also comes with a dedicated Walkman button and ClearAudio+ and XLoud technology which enhance the listening experience.
The smartphone itself has a 4-inch display (800*480 pixels), a dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and comes pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean. Learn all about the Sony Xperia E1 here.
Those waiting for the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, which was unveiled alongside the Xperia E1, have a few months to wait yet. The same source who got the Xperia E1's launch spot-on told us it'll begin shipping in the UK in April and should cost around £330.
