ZTE have showcased a couple of new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress including the ZTE Grand Memo. The Grand Memo is a true monster because it comes with a 5.7 inch touch-screen which puts it firmly in the phablet category and pits it against Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 !
ZTE only used to make affordable smartphones but recently they've begun producing premium smartphones including the ZTE Grand X and the ZTE Grand S. The Grand Memo certainly slots into the premium category , but what specification does it have ?
The ZTE Grand Memo has a 5.7 inch TFT display that runs at a resolution of 1280*720 pixel which gives it a lower PPI than most next-gen smartphones. However, the huge display will be a joy to use and should still easily fit in your pocket thanks to the devices dimensions (159.9 x 82.6 x 8.5mm).
ZTE's over-sized smartphone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor running at 1.7 GHz and has 2GB of RAM. On-board memory comes in at 16GB , while the smartphone has a whopping 3200 mAH battery.
You'll be glad to hear that the Grand Memo supports 4G LTE opening up the possibility for super-fast web-browsing. Additionally, it also supports WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G and comes pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean therefore supporting the very latest in mobile apps and games !
Finally, it comes with a stunning 13 mega-pixel camera which has an LED flash and can record stunning 1080p video and a front-facing 1.3 mega-pixel camera for video calling.
The ZTE Grand Memo will launch in the 2nd quarter of 2013 and currently we don't have any information on what it's price will be. 3G hope to review the ZTE Grand Memo before it lands in the UK and we're intrigued to see how it stacks up against Samsung's Galaxy Note 2.
