Overview

The Apple iPad 9.7 (2018) is the iPad for everyone who doesn’t need the sheer power of an iPad Pro. But that’s not to say the iPad 9.7 isn’t a powerful device, because with a quad-core A10 Fusion chipset it is, and it can comfortably handle just about everything, from high-end games to photo and video editing.

But because it’s not quite as powerful as the iPad Pro range it’s a whole lot cheaper, making this something of a bargain by Apple standards.

And unlike older non-Pro models, this one fully supports the Apple Pencil, making it a great choice for digital artists and note-takers.

Its 9.7-inch 1536 x 2048 screen is big, sharp and sports natural colours, making it great for any kind of media, but it’s more portable than Apple’s largest slates.

There’s also up to 128GB of storage built-in, so there’s plenty of space, which is good, because Apple’s App Store is packed full of hundreds of thousands of high-quality apps and games for you to get stuck into.

The iPad 9.7 also has a lengthy lifespan, lasting for around 10 hours of media use between charges, so you can play, browse, work and watch all day without having to plug it in.

And with iOS 11 onboard the Apple iPad 9.7 has serious productivity potential, letting you easily multitask and dig into your files.

You also get a pair of cameras and a premium, slim metal build, that looks seriously high-end, all of which makes the Apple iPad 9.7 one of the best – not to mention best value – tablets around.
