Overview

The iPad Air 10.5 (or just the iPad Air (2019) as some places call it) is a mid-range iPad that strikes a great balance between features and affordability.

It doesn’t have the bank-breaking price tag of an iPad Pro, but it still has a big, sharp, 10.5-inch 1668 x 2224 screen, and it still has high-end power, thanks to an A12 Bionic chipset, which allows it to effortlessly handle almost any task.

The iPad Air 10.5 also supports both the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil, so you can use it like a laptop, or for digital art and handwritten notes, giving it all the productivity potential of an iPad Pro.

With iPadOS you also get access to the best tablet ecosystem around, packed full of brilliant apps, many of which are built from the ground up for slates. And with up to 256GB of storage there’s plenty of space for them all.

Battery life is strong too, so you can keep yourself entertained all day on a single charge, and the design, while less high-end than the latest iPad Pro models, is still very premium, as just about all Apple products are.

Overall, the iPad Air 10.5 is probably the best iPad for most people – big, powerful, great for productivity, and not too expensive. Cheaper models generally sacrifice some of the versatility, while pricier ones offer diminishing returns.
