Overview

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e is a mid-range tablet with a great screen and loads of features, making it a top Android alternative to the likes of the iPad Air (2019).

The screen is arguably the star of the show here, as the Galaxy Tab S5e has a big 10.5-inch one, made using Super AMOLED, which allows for great contrast and rich colours. It’s also sharp at 1600 x 2560, leading to a pixel density of 288 pixels per inch – slightly higher than most Apple slates, even beating the iPad Pro 11.

And thanks to quad speakers the audio is similarly impressive, making this a truly great media machine.

It’s also very portable, coming in at a super slim 5.5mm thick and just 400g, so you can slip the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e in a bag and forget about it.

There’s a big 7,040mAh battery too, for all day life, even if you put it through a movie marathon, and the tablet comes with Samsung’s DeX mode, letting you hook it up to a larger screen for a desktop experience. Plus you can get an optional keyboard attachment – so this is great for both play and work.

Power is more middling but still very solid for the money, as you get an octa-core Snapdragon 670 chipset and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Plus there’s plenty of storage, with 64GB or 128GB built in, alongside a microSD card slot. And you get both a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing one, and the slate even supports 4G, making this the complete package, especially for what it costs.
