Samsung's Galaxy S3 has won the "Best Smartphone" award at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards which took place at this week's Mobile World Congress.
Samsung's Galaxy S3 has already won a number of awards over the last year including T3's "Phone Of The Year Award". Now the Galaxy S3 has won the prestigious "Best Smartphone" award at the 2013 Global Mobile Awards being held at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Samsung's Galaxy SIII beat Apple's iPhone 5 to win the award which was presented by the "King Of Camp" David Walliams . The award was voted for by a number journalists and industry analysts and it's the perfect way to commemorate the success of the Galaxy SIII before it gets replaced by the Galaxy S4.
Samsung's Galaxy S3 has been the major driving force in Samsung becoming the world's biggest mobile manufacturer. The smartphone hit 40 million sales just 7 months after its launch and continues to sell in huge volumes.
Next month (March 14th) Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S4 which is the replacement for the Galaxy S3. Early predictions suggest that it'll be even more successful than its predecessor with sales expected to reach 100 million over its lifetime.
Samsung weren't the only winners at the Global Mobile Awards because Asus and Google picked up best tablet for their Nexus 7. We can't disagree because Google's Nexus 7 really changed the whole tablet market due to the amazing value it offers. While, the "Best Feature Phone" award was won by Nokia's Asha 305.
