The Nokia EOS looks set bring Nokia's 41 mega-pixel Pureview camera to the Windows platform.
We first heard about the Nokia EOS back in January and since then the Finnish company has gone on to announce the Lumia 925 - which is an excellent Pureview camera smartphone. However, it doesn't include the industry leading 41 mega-pixel camera introduced in the Pureview 808 - but that's where the Nokia EOS comes in to play.
The Nokia EOS looks set to be the second smartphone to feature the stunning Pureview camera - bringing it to the Windows platform for the first time. WPCentral have posted a specification of the Nokia EOS obtained from AT&T - the American mobile operator.
The first thing to point out is that it's been code-named internally as "Elvis" - presumably, because it's the "King" of camera phones. We highly doubt it'll launch as the Nokia Elvis, but stranger things have happened - "thank you very much".
The freshly leaked specification suggests that Nokia's EOS will come with Nokia's 41 mega-pixel Purecamera Camera with a Xenon Flash and Carl Zeiss optics. That'll enable users to take 35 and 5 mega-pixel snaps simultaneously , one for saving and one for sharing - a brilliant idea.
The Nokia EOS - or Elvis if you prefer - will have an OLED display running at 1280*768 pixels of unknown size. It'll run on the very latest version of Windows Phone 8 and will come with 32GB of onboard memory.
Nokia's Pureview 808 was a bit bloated and thankfully the EOS has been put on a diet - less burgers and donuts for the King. Resulting in the Nokia EOS being 1mm thinner than the Lumia 920 , albeit with an added camera bulge.
The only other details 3G have at the current time is that it'll have an FM radio , will include flip-to-silence support and will be available in Yellow. We don't have any details on when the Nokia EOS will launch, but it's already being tested internally within Nokia - so we expect it launch before the end of 2013.
As soon as 3G hear more about the Nokia EOS, or Elvis, you'll be the first to know !
